Poke bowls, built to order

Every OniGuru poke bowl is built to order with fresh, sushi-grade fish, house-made sauces and toppings. Poke is the half of the OniGuru counter that is raw fish — our onigiri never are. Three counters across Orange County: Garden Grove, Ladera Ranch and Mission Viejo.

What goes in an OniGuru poke bowl

Poke at OniGuru is a build, not a fixed recipe. You pick at the counter (or in the app) and the bowl is assembled in front of you.

  • Fresh, sushi-grade fish

Poke bowls are made with fresh, sushi-grade fish. This is the one part of the OniGuru menu that is raw — deliberately so.

  • House-made sauces

Sauces are made in house. The three on the OniGuru menu are spicy mayo, wasabi mayo and truffle soy sauce.

  • Toppings & add-ons

Bowls are finished with toppings and add-ons chosen at the counter — 12+ add-ons in all. The current list is on your location’s ordering site, because it is set per store.

  • Vegan buildsVegan

Build-your-own poke combinations are the vegan route at the poke counter, alongside the Vegan Onigiri and the Vegan Rice Bowl.

Avoiding an ingredient? Ask the counter before you order — every OniGuru is counter service and the team can check.

What this page does not list

We are not going to guess at our own menu. OniGuru does not publish a fixed protein list, a base list, or a per-bowl ingredient breakdown on this site, and the prices for Poke Large and Poke Bowl Medium are not published here either — they are set per store and change.

For the current build options and the exact price at the store you are ordering from, see that location’s online ordering or ask at the counter.

Poke sizes and prices by location

Poke sizes are named slightly differently store to store, and each store sets its own prices. Here is exactly what each OniGuru publishes.

OniGuru poke sizes and starting price by location, as published by each store
LocationPoke sizesPrice
Garden Grove Poke Small · Poke Large Poke Small from $17.99
Mission Viejo Poke Bowl Small · Poke Bowl Medium · Poke Bowl Large See this store’s online ordering (opens in new tab)
Ladera Ranch Built to order. Ladera Ranch does not publish its poke sizes, so we do not list them here. Set by this store — order at the Mercantile West counter or through arcekrestaurants.com (opens in new tab)

About that price. $17.99 is the current starting price for Poke Small, taken from OniGuru Garden Grove. Mission Viejo runs slightly higher, and OniGuru Ladera Ranch sets its own prices. For the exact price at the store you are ordering from, see that location’s online ordering.

Poke or onigiri? What is raw and what is not

This is the question the counter gets most, and the answer is genuinely different for each half of the menu.

  • Poke bowls — yes, raw fish

Poke bowls are made with fresh, sushi-grade fish and house-made sauces. If raw fish is what you came for, this is the side of the counter you want.

  • Onigiri — never raw

Onigiri are hand-pressed Japanese rice balls: the rice is cooked and the fillings are cooked, cured or pickled. Onigiri are not sushi and are never raw. Read the onigiri guide.

  • Rice bowls — never raw either

OniGuru Rice Bowls are hand-shaped rice with the topping pressed into a pocket, finished with sesame furikake — the same six fillings as the onigiri. See the rice bowls.

OniGuru is an onigiri and poke restaurant — not a ramen shop and not a sushi bar.

Poke is half of the counter

A poke bowl, a couple of onigiri and a side of edamame or corn is how most OniGuru orders actually look. Browse the full menu by section →
